Childhood Behind Bars Campaign | Embrace the Middle East
The Childhood Behind Bars campaign tackles the root causes of child detention in the West Bank. Israel has been arbitrarily detaining Palestinian children since 1967 and they are denied their right to a fair trial and often face abuse or even torture. The far-reaching consequences of child detention range from disruption to their education, damage to family relationships, and severe long-term harm to their mental and physical health.

Urge Israel to end the practice of night arrests and the use of inhumane tactics against Palestinian children
Call on Israel to immediately stop the unlawful transfer of Palestinian child detainees from the occupied West Bank to detention facilities inside Israel
Enact legislation that bans trade with and investment in Israeli settlements in the West Bank

We want to be biased towards action - doing justice well, not just talking about justice well. We do life with a posture of service, with others in mind, each as we are able.
Raising money for charities that are effectively tackling injustice is a way to have real impact beyond our cities, and provides opportunities to both raise awareness about injustices, and invite people into the amazing work that is being done!
We want to sustainably transform structures, striking at the root causes of injustice and finding better ways of doing things through raising awareness, writing petitions and letters to MPs, advocate for much needed change, and being more politically engaged and active in the community.
