Serve Humbly: Figuring Out Time, Work & Vocation

Until 2030, we are using our annual National Gatherings to walk step-by-step through Just Love's 6 Justice Practices:

  • Serve Humbly

  • Love Widely

  • Change Structures

  • Pray Boldly

  • Give Deeply

  • Live Lightly

Last year we gathered in Birmingham to look at "Changing Structures", diving deep into how we can transform local, national and global systems through people, ideas  and networks. This year, we're back in London and our focus is "Serving Humbly": time, work and vocation.

Joined by our incredible Programme Partners Resurgo, LICC and Christians for Impact, we're putting together a packed programme of sessions and seminars designed to help you in your walk with Jesus and justice. Our Connect Cafe will be open all day Saturday, bringing together around 30 partner organisations working tirelessly up and down the UK and beyond - and there'll

To get a taste of the sessions you can expect, see our Event Programme. Or, head to our Contributors page to see who's coming and our Partners page to find out more about our Programme Partners

FAQs

  • Anyone! This event is 100% open to everyone, from across the UK church and beyond. There's no age barrier or restriction.

This event is designed with Christians in mind, especially people who are passionate about social justice. But if you're just curious, or are exploring Christianity, you're still more than welcome!

  • We don’t want cost to be a barrier to anyone who wants to come to the National Gathering. We are offering three different ticket options: a concession, standard and generosity price. If you are a student or unemployed, or otherwise unable to afford the standard ticket price, please buy the concession (no questions asked!).

If the concession ticket is still unaffordable, please email network@justloveuk.com to enquire about further support.

  • Absolutely, we have travel bursaries available and we’d love them to be used! When you buy your ticket there will be an option to indicate that you would like to apply for a travel bursary: just tick that box and we’ll be in touch with how we can support your travel costs.

We may not be able to cover the whole cost of your travel, but we will do our utmost to make this event possible for you wherever you live.

  • Our Friday and Saturday venues are wheelchair accessible and have wheelchair accessible toilets.

On the Sunday, people will have the opportunity to attend many different churches across London - we can provide specific accessibility information nearer the time.

We would love to consider BSL or other signed provision, should this be needed by any guests.

Please do let us know via the ticket form or at network@justloveuk.com of any specific accessibility needs that you or those with you may have. We can provide further information and open a conversation about how best to accommodate your needs.

  • Hot drinks and snacks will be served on Friday night and all day Saturday, and lunch on Saturday is provided as part of your ticket. However, we are unable to provide dinner on Saturday, so please do make your own eating plans for then!

  • Our Justice Practices are six practical, Biblically-rooted ways we make the idea of ‘pursuing justice’ more tangible. The Practice of ‘Serve Humbly’ is all about adopting a posture of Christlike service in our work, submitting our time and our skills to God, and being willing for our vocation to be about others, not ourselves.

  • On Friday night, you can expect stories, an inspiring talk and an extended time of worship and prayer. On Saturday, expect thought-provoking content via both whole-group sessions and optional breakouts, opportunities for small group meet-ups and a café area for connecting with others in the Just Love Network.

And this year, feel free to stick around and join others for church and socials on Sunday morning!

  • Absolutely, please do! All are welcome to join us for this event.

  • We would strongly encourage you to attend the whole event if you can – however, if this is not possible you can absolutely just come to part of it, or dip in and out.

If you require any further information, please contact Rhosanna, Kathryn, Tim, Ayo, and Hannah at: network@justloveuk.com
