Just Love Politics: In Conversation with David Lawrence

Join us at Kings Cross Baptist, London, for an evening of reflection and conversation on faith, politics and social justice.

We will be in conversation with David Lawrence, a founding member of Just Love who is running for Parliament in the next UK General Election.

Over recent years, a wave of Just Love graduates have been entering the political space, running for office, helping set up innovative new political organisations and doing great work across issues like climate change, housing justice and migration. On the 7th September, we'll be interviewing one of those people - David Lawrence - hearing his story, connecting with one another and setting up the year ahead in the Just Love Politics Sphere.

David was a core member of Just Love's founding team back in 2013, and is an integral part of our politics alumni group. Since graduating, David has been involved in local community organising, worked for an MP, and lobbied for trade justice. He has being involved in setting up several new initiatives including the New Diplomacy Project, Labour for Long Term, and Christians for Impact, while also serving as part of Just Love’s Advisory Board. He is now returning to Basingstoke, where he is hoping to become the town's first Labour MP.

At this event, we’ll have the opportunity to hear about David’s journey through politics over the last 10 years. This is an opportunity to dive into highs and lows of political engagement, drawing out key lessons for Christians who want to have a positive social impact in the political world.

This event is being hosted by the Just Love Politics Sphere, which is comprised of around 100 people working in and around politics and government, primarily in London. Find out more here.
