Stories are what keep us going. Join us this summer for food, poetry & storytelling with Just Love & friends.

"Memory produces hope." Amid the vast challenges of our time, remembering our stories is an urgent task: if change has happened before, it can happen again.  At Just Love, we believe in the power of storytelling to open up new ways of seeing God, each other and the world.

This summer, join Just Love & friends for an evening of food, poetry and storytelling, hearing from justice practitioners young and old.

This event is open to all Just Love students, alumni and supporters, whether in the North of England or from further afield. Location details will be sent when you get a ticket below. The location is a short distance from Bradford station by bus.

Here in Bradford, we'll hear from Revd Jon Swales and Katie Dowds of Lighthouse Leeds and Christian Climate Action, as well as from Just Love students and grads, about the work they're doing, the change they've seen, and the highs and lows of justice activism. Jon is a church leader, theologian and one of the leading voices in UK Christian climate activism - we cannot wait to hear some of his life story.

What’s the evening going to look like?

This evening will be an opportunity to connect with the Just Love movement in Bradford and across the North of England, to stop and listen in-depth to people's stories and experiences.

  • 6pm - Arrive from 6pm to help set up and get the BBQ going.

  • 7.30pm - We'll kick off with Jesus and justice stories

  • 8pm - Reflective poetry and music from Just Love members

  • 8.30pm - We'll gather round this year's set of final year students, celebrating their amazing work and praying over them together!

  • 9pm - further storytelling, creative content and chill time, finishing by 10pm.

Tickets are below, with a suggested £3.00 donation or a free ticket for those who need it. We'll provide some food and drink, but feel free to bring drinks/snacks/extras for the BBQ. Please make sure to let us know what you're bringing and to label all ingredients carefully, including allergens.

If you have questions or would like to help out, please contact Tim Lornie (tim.lornie@justloveuk.com) or Hannah Simpson (hannah.simpson@justloveuk.com). Can't wait to see you there!
