JLET England and Wales

14th to 16th April 2025, London

We’re excited to invite you to the English & Welsh instalment of Just Love Easter Training 2025!

This training is for Just Love committees from the following groups: Bath, Birmingham, Bristol, Cambridge, Cardiff, Durham, Exeter, Newcastle, Nottingham, Oxford, Sheffield, Sussex, and Warwick.

It’s designed for those who will be on committee from Easter onwards, or those whose time on committee continues beyond Easter. This training will give you the best possible start to leading in your Just Love group as well as preparing and developing you all as individuals to continue to pursue Jesus and justice well after university.

JLET is a fantastic time to get to know the rest of your committee better, as well as other student leaders from your area! There will be plenty of time for prayer, worship and reflection, and interactive sessions including:

  • Theology of justice

  • Team dynamics

  • Leadership development

  • Role based sessions

We can’t wait to see you!

Key Details

Tickets:
Tickets are £20 for the whole event, or £7.50 per day, which covers the whole cost of training, including food (see below).

Date and Location:
JLET (England and Wales) will take place on the 14th-16th of April 2025 and will be held in St Michael’s Church, Southfield, London.

Venue:
St Michael’s Church, Southfield is located at 71 Wimbledon Park Rd, London SW18 5TT.

The church is less than 10 minutes walk from Southfields Tube Station, which is on the district line. Alternatively, buses no. 156 and 39 stop outside the church, offering connections from Clapham Junction Train Station (Great Western Railway or Southern Railway) or Vauxhall Tube Station (Victoria Line).

Accommodation:
If you know someone in London and can stay with them, or you are able to find a hotel or airbnb to stay in with other committee members, please arrange to do so. However, if neither of those options are available to you in order to attend JLET, we can help. Just Love has a list of contacts who are happy to host students during our training events. They are Just Love alumni, family of Just Love students, and friends of our network. Some of these hosts will have a bed to offer, others just a floor mattress or a sofa bed. If you do not have somewhere to stay during training and would like to be partnered with a host, we will connect you with a host closer to the time of training. Please let us know when booking your JLET ticket whether you need accommodation. The deadline for requesting accommodation is the 16th March.

Food:
We will providing lunch on Tuesday and Wednesday, as well as pudding on Monday and dinner on Tuesday. Please let us know of any dietary requirements and allergies whilst booking.

Travel and Financial Support:
Some students choose to drive to Just Love training events. In the ticket form, you will have the option to indicate that you are able to offer lifts to people who live near you if you are able and willing, or if you would like to be connected with someone who can offer a lift. However, most students use public transport to get to Just Love training events.

We want every single committee member to be able to attend training, because we think it's the best start for your year ahead as a Just Love group and as an individual. If you need financial assistance to make JLET accessible to you, we would like to help by offering a travel bursary. Please indicate in your ticket form whether this is the case and we will be in touch with you about how much of your travel costs we are able to cover. The deadline for requesting a travel bursary is 31st March.

On top of your ticket price, you can also opt to pay a bit extra to support covering the ticket cost or travel bursaries for others, if you'd like to. This helps us to make training as accessible as possible to everyone in our movement

The station is also fitted with accessible toilets, an induction loop and a ramp for train access. Further accessibility information about Clapham Junction station can be found here.

  • Wandsworth Town Station does not have step-free access to any platform, nor accessible toilets, but does have an induction loop system.
