JLET Sessions
We'll have lots of different content at JLET to help you prepare for leading your community, doing your role on committee, and moving forward in your pursuit of justice in the way of Jesus. Check out the sessions below to get a taste of what we'll be exploring together.
Just Love Vision and Values
We always start our training with the vision and values of Just Love. They are central to who we are as a movement. Everything else that happens over training and in our groups is grounded in the vision and values.
Theology of Justice
This session will come in four parts because there’s just so much goodness! We will look at the call to engage with social justice throughout the biblical story. Where does justice fit in with God’s mission and the mission of the church?
Team Dynamics: Growing Good Team Cultures
Your ability to work well together, to draw the best out of each other, and not just act as a group of individuals is crucial to what you are able to achieve as a committee. In this session we’ll look at Patrick Lencioni’s dysfunctions of a team to explore what a good group culture can look like.
Meetings
As a committee, you’ll be in lots of meetings, but many of us are never taught how to do meetings well. This can lead to meetings that are boring and frustrating, and then form team dynamics issues. This session will teach a system for doing meetings that we have seen transform groups in the past. It will enable you to run meetings that are engaging, relevant, and productive.
Leadership
Leadership is essential to the thriving of organisations. But, what does it mean to be a leader? How do we develop as leaders and why does Just Love talk so much about developing other leaders? We’ll explore what leadership in the way of Jesus means and how to grow in the skill of leadership development.
Strategy and Evaluation
We really value quality in Just Love. This doesn’t mean perfectionism, but it does mean seeking to use the gifts that God has given us to the best of our ability in order to better serve and love others. Strategy and evaluation are key to building that quality and in this session we'll give you the tools to plan strategically and evaluate progress well.
Prayer
Prayer is not only an essential part of engaging with justice, it’s an essential part of following Jesus. In this session we will re-ground ourselves in why we pray and different ways to pray.
Role-Based Sessions
We want you to have a clear understanding of what your role is, what is expected of you and what you could do in your role. This session will be a time to share ideas, grow ambition and ask lots of questions with others in the same role as you.

Community-Building
Vibrant, welcoming community is a core component to every Just Love group’s success. But how do you build it well and maintain it whilst growing? This seminar will help us understand the importance of community and will give you tools for developing it.
Event Planning
How do you plan an event that people want to come to, that is really excellent quality and works towards Just Love’s vision? This seminar will focus on the key things you need to think about in order to plan excellent events and give you the tools to do so.
Fundraising
Why do we fundraise? How do we fundraise sensitively and effectively? How do we get lots of people involved and fundraise lots of money for other charities? We’ll be looking at these questions and sharing practical tips from Just Love groups' experience over the years.
