Just Love Case for Support, 2025-26

The Problem

We are living in a world of escalating turbulence, unravelling and suffering. In the absence of strong, compelling and faithful justice discipleship in the UK church, young Christians are being drawn towards extremes - either uncritically assimilating secular ideologies, or withdrawing from the needs of the world.

We need a generation of young disciples whose passion for Jesus compels them to show up to the great social, economic, political and ecological challenges of the coming decades. And we need to form them in the character, values, theology and practices that will ensure they can be safely entrusted with power and stay the course for their whole lives.

The Solution

Just Love’s vision is to build a dense network of thousands of disciples pursuing justice in the way of Jesus holistically, fruitfully and sustainably.

Over twelve years, we have launched 15 student groups and invested deeply in close to 1000 leaders at the core of these groups. 2-3000 thousand more have been more peripherally involved.

Our Track Record

We have a track record of forming young disciples for a life laid down in service of others.

*The below data is drawn from survey research conducted in 2024 comparing 227 Just Love graduates with 134 UK Christians who had not been part of Just Love.

Alongside this, the dense connections of our Network has begun to result in the incubation and releasing of new ventures and projects , including:

Helping the UK church to divest millions of pounds from fossil fuels

Educating doctors on the health impacts of air pollution

Telling a better story than Christian Nationalism

Our impact data gives us confidence that our model is working, as well as clarity on how we improve.

“I am always impressed by people I meet from Just Love.  Their faith in Jesus makes them unstoppably motivated to work to make their community better.  They are starting to have an impact in Parliament, and I hope we will see a great deal more of that impact in the years ahead.”

— Sir Stephen Timms, MP - Minister of State for Disabilities

Our Model

Stage 1: Activation

Deep investment in university students - through training, coaching and relational connection - we build the foundations for a whole-life pursuit of justice in the way of Jesus:

Stage 2: Cultivation

When our students graduate, they enter our Network - an ecosystem for the lifelong formation of disciples who love justice like our God loves justice. The Network guides that work with a framework of practice, it sustains that work with connection, and it incubates redemptive ideas, projects and ventures that would not otherwise exist.

The Network gathers around six Justice Practices:

This is how we form disciples capable of showing up to the great challenges in our world, and this is how we leverage vast impact for those in our world in greatest need.

2025-26 Growth Plan

We are ready to scale the impact of our Network and need growth capital to do that.

Of the 300-400 students who are currently involved in Just Love student groups, around 60 are receiving our full leadership development programme. By our autumn training of 2026, we want to double that number to 120 students.

In order to achieve this, we will invest more heavily in our existing student groups, producing better events, volunteering opportunities and campaigns, increasing their engagement of their peers, thus growing those communities.

We will also pilot a second stream of student work where individuals receive our coaching and training programme in return to committing to serving through their church’s justice ministry for a year.

We work on a September-August financial year. Our budgeted expenditure for 2025-26 is just under £470,000. Over 2024-25, we raised £385,000 and spent £435,000.

Our regular giving gives us a total of £261,000. We can be confident in raising another £100,000 from grants and one-off donations from existing supporters.

That leaves us with a gap of £109,000 to raise from new supporters.

Currently, over half of our regular giving comes from within our Network. We are looking for people from beyond our Network to partner with us to multiply the impact that is possible here.

The Support We Need

We are grateful for any support you are able to give us in closing this gap. Regularly monthly giving gives us confidence to build.

We are also seeking 10 gifts of £5,000 - £20,000 (or monthly equivalent) which would bridge the gap between our secured funding and our projected expenditure, allowing us to double the number of students we take through our leadership development syllabus, and position us to continue that growth trajectory into future years.

Would you be one of those people?
