About the Event

It’s time to dream again!

Right now, members of Just Love are helping pioneer churches in the UK's most marginalised communities, serving on the frontlines of refugee justice and running for Parliament. They've pioneered charities, founded ethical businesses and helped secure fossil fuel divestment at some of the UK's biggest universities. Just Love students have raised £200,000 for charity, given 35,000 volunteering hours in communities up and down the UK and run countless campaigns on some of the most pressing social justice issues of our time.

On Friday 10th (2pm-11:30pm) and Saturday 11th November (10am-7pm), hundreds of us will gather at St Dionis, Fulham to celebrate all this and dream for the future. There will be plenty of time for community and friendships, alongside cutting-edge content from leading thinkers and practitioners - much more speaker info coming soon! We’ll remember the very best Just Love stories and unite in a diverse rhythm of prayer and worship, threading together the various traditions represented in Just Love. Set in a quiet location on Parsons Green, just a short walk from the river, this will be a space of rest, renewal and revitalisation: a moment to step back, take stock and refuel for the road ahead.

On the Friday night, we'll convert the venue into a big Just Love festival with lots of dancing, music and good food. Whether you need to crash and refill, laugh and reconnect, or go deep in prayer and worship, there will be space for you.

Above all, we gather because another world is possible. This is the hope that sparked Just Love, and it's still the hope today. Even as we celebrate, we also look outward. It's time to dream again.

Who’s coming?

Friday Keynote Speaker: Dr Krish Kandiah OBE

Dr Krish Kandiah OBE is a social entrepreneur, activist and theologian. An expert in refugee resettlement, child welfare reform and civil society mobilisation, Krish is the founder of multiple social movements and charities, including Home For Good, Hong Kong Ready Churches and The Sanctuary Foundation. Since 1997, Krish has been involved in resettlement programmes for refugees from Kosovo, Afghanistan, Ukraine and beyond, with a strong focus on support for unaccompanied children. In 2021, the Secretary of State for Education appointed Krish as Chair of the Adoption and Special Guardianship Leadership Board, a role in which he advised the English government on care system reform. Krish is a Tearfund ambassador, a regular contributor to BBC Radio, and lives with his wife Miriam and seven children in Oxfordshire.

Krish has been a friend to Just Love since the start, serves on Just Love's Advisory Board and has done more Just Love Launch Nights than we care to mention. We're delighted that he'll be joining us again for Another World Is Possible.

Saturday Keynote Speaker: Elaine Storkey

Elaine Storkey is a philosopher, sociologist, and theologian who has been shaping global Christian feminism for over 40 years, with other strong focuses on ecology, peacebuilding and extreme poverty. Alongside teaching posts at Oxford University, King's College London and several theological colleges, Elaine has held roles as President of Tearfund, Executive Director of the London Institute for Contemporary Christianity (LICC) and founding member of Restored. Beyond this, she has served on councils for the environmental campaigning organisations A Rocha, John Ray Initiative and Forum for the Future, as well as the World Council of Churches, Micah Global and the Lausanne Movement. Elaine has been a member of the Emerging Markets Symposium and The Power Shift Forum for Women in the World Economy, and presented on BBC Radio 4's Thought for the Day for more than 20 years. In recent years, Elaine has had a strong focus on the prevention of violence against women in conflict zones, a work shared alongside her husband Alan's focus on disarmament and the global weapons trade.

Elaine has been a friend to Just Love since our early beginnings, and spoke at the very first Just Love Durham event back in 2014 - just a few months after Just Love launched in Oxford. She continues as an advisor to Just Love and many connected movements.
