'Seek peace and pursue it' – Psalm 34:14

Join us for a weekend in The Scottish Borders to deepen our capacity to be peacemakers, together.

5th - 7th June 2026 Well Road Centre, Moffat

Peace Be With You

The Invitation

After his resurrection, Jesus entered the room where his fearful disciples hid behind locked doors and said, “Peace be with you.” The peace he offers is more than the absence of conflict. In Scripture, it is shalom: wholeness, right relationship, and mutual flourishing.

Our world is full of division, but short of people who know how to respond with honesty, courage, and compassion. This retreat invites us to rediscover our Christian calling as peacemakers: people who embody the reconciling peace of Christ in a fractured world.

Over the weekend, we’ll explore what peacemaking looks like in our personal lives, relationships, communities, and wider society. Together we’ll reflect on our instinct to take sides or seek easy answers, and instead learn how to hold truth, mercy, justice, and peace together. Drawing on Scripture and framing the weekend with the work of peacebuilder John Paul Lederach, we’ll explore reconciliation not simply as an idea, but as a way of living – personally, relationally, and culturally.

This retreat is both reflective and practical. You’ll leave not only inspired, but equipped with a personal ‘Peace Plan’ for your own context and relationships.

If you’ve felt overwhelmed by the state of the world, unsure how to respond, or longing for a deeper, steadier peace, this Retreat is for you.

Come with your questions, your weariness, and your hope. There is space here for all of it.

  • Craftivism: Creative Practice for Social Change

Explore how creativity, making, and gentle acts of resistance can become powerful tools for social change. No artistic experience needed - just a willingness to make, reflect, and engage together.

    Speaker: Kathryn Ritchie

  • A Space for Lament and Intercession

In a world marked by conflict, injustice, and division, this session offers a quiet space to pause, pray, and reflect together. Through guided prayer, scripture, silence, and shared lament, we will hold the pain of the world before God and seek peace, reconciliation, and hope together.
