Theology and Practice Research Assistant | Viva - Together for Children

If you are passionate about how good research can have a Kingdom impact - Lucy Kajidori, Viva’s Theology and Practice researcher, invites you to apply for the position of volunteer research assistant, to support her doctoral research on child participation in theological reflection.

Viva inspires, equips and connects networks of churches and community-based organisations to work together to make a bigger, better and longer-lasting impact in the lives of children.

We are passionate about empowering children. To this end, Lucy is currently working on doctoral research into how to encourage better child participation amongst the Viva Partner Networks, and beyond. We are delighted to offer the opportunity to see this pioneering research up close - working as a volunteer research assistant to Lucy.

This is an opportunity to build up your skill set and get some hands-on experience in the charity sector and analysing data. Experience in analysing qualitative and/or quantitative data is essential. Knowledge of how to use a data analysis tool like Nvivo could help too or being an Excel Spreadsheet wizard! A key task would include support in producing reports on the data.

We're looking for someone who could offer at least 3-4 hours a week to this volunteer position, for the rest of this academic year, through remote working or being Oxford-based.

Recruitment would be in line with Viva's standard volunteer recruitment process and will include an informal interview. Acceptance would also be subject to receiving a satisfactory reference.

Please submit your CV below, along with a brief cover letter stating:

  1. Why you would be a good fit for this role and

  2. What experience you have in data analysis
