Just Love students ‘Stand for Freedom’ with IJM

In the last few months, Just Love student groups across the UK have been standing for freedom, fundraising for International Justice Mission (IJM) and raising awareness of the issue of human trafficking on their university campuses. 5 Just Love groups - Newcastle, Durham, Glasgow, Cardiff and Notts - have completed the challenge, standing for a total of 84 hours on their campuses and raising a total of £8983.92 to support the work of IJM!

Just Love Glasgow

“It was so great to see how our community came together to stand for 24 hours collectively! The highlights were definitely the interactions we had with people passing by. What a privilege to share about IJM’s work and how we were getting involved! In total we raised £1,783.50.”

Just Love Notts

“The ‘Stand For Freedom’ was a great opportunity to raise awareness and money for IJM. We had some fantastic conversations with people around engaging in the pursuit of justice! The community came together to stand for 12 hours and shared many wonderful moments, including some beautiful worship at the end. The support from other Just Love groups and wider community meant so much!”

Just Love Newcastle

“We did a 24 hour ‘Stand for Freedom’ in front of St Thomas’ Church, in between Newcastle and Northumbria universities. It was a fantastic day chatting to students, families and commuters about IJM. We did a bake sale through the day and gave out hot chocolate through the night, having many people pass through after sports night!  Despite the exhaustion, it was a joyful event and we are so in awe of God’s provision and people’s generosity.”

Just Love Cardiff

“Last Wednesday Just Love Cardiff partnered with IJM in a 12 hour ‘Stand For Freedom’ to help raise awareness and fundraise for the amazing work IJM does! Standing outside the Student Union meant we were able to engage with many students and commuters, who showed so much support. We hosted a cake sale throughout and so far we’ve been able to raise over £500 for IJM - something we’re so excited about as a young Just Love group!! We can’t wait to get involved with more fundraisers in the future and hopefully do our part in putting a stop to human trafficking!”

We love seeing our Just Love groups fundraising for fantastic charities like IJM. A huge well done to the Just Love groups in Durham, Newcastle, Cardiff, Glasgow and Notts for your creative and inspiring fundraisers.
