Dreaming Big: Resourcing the Next Decade
The first decade of Just Love has been incredible. And the best thing is that it’s just the start.
At our recent National Gathering, ‘Another World is Possible,’ Josh and Anna shared about where Just Love is heading and highlighted some ways that we can all sow into the Just Love movement as we enter our second decade. As well as celebrating all of the ways that God has been good to us over this first decade, we looked ahead and dreamt together about what the next decade has in store.
For those of you who missed Josh and Anna’s session, or who want a recap, here’s a quick summary of what they shared.
40/400/4000 Vision
In ten years’ time, we want to see 40 Just Love groups, 400 students every year graduating from those groups and joining the Just Love Network, and 4000 people in the network.
That would be a serious acceleration in growth. But imagine what becomes possible with a network of that size - the momentum that can be generated behind projects and campaigns, the radical discipleship that can be incubated, the cross-pollination of ideas, the local and regional hubs, the mentoring, the ripples of God’s justice transforming thousands, maybe millions of lives.
We can make that possible, together.
The long-term financial stability of Just Love will come through our graduates. It was predominantly our graduates who stepped up to keep us going over the pandemic and who got us through the financial challenges we faced over the last year. We’re hugely grateful.
Currently, 122 of the 700 graduates in our network give regularly. It totals about £5000 a month - around a third of our regular income.
We think that between us, we could increase that by £2500 a month. If everyone at Another World is Possible was able to raise their regular giving by £10/month, we’d smash that target. Of course some of us won’t be in a position to do that right now, so it will require others to give more. That £2500/month of new giving would position us for growth. In particular, we’d like to recruit someone to run the ops of the Network - making all of the ideas happen, and someone to cover the new student groups that are launching. Hitting our target would position us for growth.
We’re so excited about where God is leading us in the coming decade. We’re living in a time of volatility and compound crises - the need to raise a generation for a healthy, holistic and life-long pursuit of Jesus and justice has never been greater.
