Join us 1st-3rd September 2022 in Sheffield for Just Love Autumn Training.
We’re excited to invite you to Just Love Autumn Training 2022, our national training for all Just Love committees across the UK! If you’re on 2022-2023 committee, then this training is for you (or, if you’re from a uni where there isn’t currently a Just Love group and you’d be interested in starting one, you’d also be really welcome to come).
At JLAT we will:
- Build on things you might have learnt at our Easter training.
- Equip you in skills as a leader in your university context.
- Learn together about what it means to keep prayer, theology and self-care at the centre of pursuing justice.
This will be a time to learn more about prayer, theology and self-care – how can we pursue justice with these things at the centre of all that we do? We’ll be hearing from experts in theology, communication, sustainable development, campaigning, politics, and much more. You can find out more about training here.
Tickets: Please book your place with us via the form above. The price of tickets covers the costs of training (including food).
Venue: St Thomas Crookes, Nairn Street, Crookes, Sheffield.
Where to Stay: If you know someone in Sheffield and can stay with them, please arrange to do so. However, if you need help finding somewhere to stay in order to attend JLAT, we may be able to help. Just Love has a list of contacts who are happy to host students during our training events. They are Just Love alumni, family of Just Love students, and friends of our network. Some of these hosts will have a bed to offer, others just a floor mattress or a sofa bed. If you do not have somewhere to stay during training and would like to be partnered with a host, we will connect you with a host closer to the time of training. Please let us know when booking your JLAT ticket whether you need accommodation.
Accessibility: We want Just Love training events to fully accessible to everyone in our movement and have sought to choose venues/locations that are accessible for those with physical disabilities. During our events, we will also have a separate, quiet room for those who would like or need time out of the main sessions. Below you will find physical access information for the event.
At the venue: The building and all its meeting rooms have full wheelchair access. There is an accessible toilet for wheelchairs on the ground floor. A hearing loop will be accessible in the main sessions.
At Sheffield Train Station: Find out more here.
Adjustments: If you require any additional adjustments or services in order to make JLET accessible for you, please let us know in the access section when purchasing your ticket.
Financial support: We want every single committee member to be able to attend training, because we think it’s the best start for your year ahead as a Just Love group and as an individual. If the cost of travelling to JLET would hinder you from coming, please let your staff worker know and we can talk about how Just Love can provide some financial assistance.
